HABITAT NOW OFFERS TO QUALIFIED, LOW INCOME HOMEOWNERS

Plans are underway to kick off a new program called A Brush With Kindness.  ICHFH will begin repairing homes in partnership with qualified, low-income homeowners. The new housing repair program called A Brush with Kindness is aimed at providing painting, yard clean-up, landscaping, weatherization, and minor repairs. Depending on the homeowner’s needs we may be able to build access ramps or install a new roof or siding.

Habitat for Humanity’s A Brush with Kindness has a goal to serve low-income homeowners who struggle to maintain the exterior of their homes.  The work is done by volunteers who use donated materials whenever possible.  The program also follows that same tenents for eligibility (need, ability to pay and willingness to partner).

A Brush With Kindness will allow Itasca County Habitat for Humanity to address the issue of an aging housing stock in Itasca County.  The program will be rolled out this fall and current plans are to complete the first two ABWK projects during spring, 2012.
