Purpose
To bring Thrivent Financial members, Lutheran congregations and individuals and Habitat for Humanity affiliates, partner families and other community members together to help families achieve greater economic independence through building simple, decent homes.

The Thrivent Builds Homes grant program sponsors seventy percent of the total for each home approved. Remaining funds will be raised through the efforts of the local Thrivent Chapter, Lutheran congregations and Habitat.

In addition to raising funds for one additional home, 50 percent of the volunteers on-site must be Lutheran and of that number, 25 percent must be members of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.

What good is it my brothers, if a man claims to  have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, “Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself,  if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

James 2:14-17
