This year's Winter Build is for the Rounsville family; Kayley, Aubrey, and their three children, Jay(age six), Lincoln (four), and Peyton (one). Itasca County Habitat for Humanity will be building a one-level three-bedroom homethat will include wide hallways and doorways
to accommodate Lincoln’s wheelchair, aswell as a roll-in shower. Aubrey was also in ahead-on collision with a semi-truck six years
ago, which resulted in the loss of his legwhich makes this house a huge need for his independence. The Rounsville family’s home
will also have a garage with sidewalksconnecting the house for seamlesstransitions from the car along with sidewalksto the road to assist in easy transition fromthe house to the bus for Lincoln to attendschool. The home’s open floor plan will makeit easy for the family to spend time together. When asked what having a Habitat home that meets their family’s needs would mean to them, Aubrey and Kayley stated, “a safe
one level home that will allow enough room for Lincolns needs will be amazing. Being close to the hospital in a quiet neighborhood
where our boys can grow-up is a dream come true.”
There are several ways you can help the Rounsville family by volunteering and ways to donate.
