Why donate to the ReStore? We have a few good reasons:

Picture
1. Because you have too much stuff! We all have couches, tables, chairs, appliances, etc. that need to be moved because we don't need them anymore. What are you going to do with this stuff? Don't throw it away. We'll come pick it up, resell it and use the cash to build affordable houses. Your stuff will get recycled in a very cool way!
2. You're replacing furniture or an appliance, or moving to a new home. Congrats! It's always fun to get new things for your home. Why not pass that feeling along? Donate to the Habitat ReStore!
3. You don't have a truck! We know....it can be hard to move stuff. Here's a solution: We'll pick it up! We have a truck!
4. You want to help. We're not just trying to make you feel good. Your donations make it possible for us to build affordable houses. It's a great feeling knowing you're helping create opportunities for other people. Try it!
5. Our planet will thank you. The less we send to the landfill, the better. Generous donors like you divert MILLIONS of pounds from the landfill by donating to the ReStore. People in our community benefit from shopping here, and the Earth will love you for it.
6. It's easy! With donation pickup, we do the work for you. Just fill out the form below to inquire about a pickup, or call or email us if you have questions.

If you would like to have your donation picked up, you can contact us by filling out the interest form below. We will contact you once we receive the submitted form to schedule your pickup.  We also accept drop-off donations during store hours. Please note: Furniture and large items must be located on the main floor, or outside weather permitting. We cannot move these items from basements or upper stories due to risk of damage or injury. If you have questions about donating, email [email protected] or call the ReStore at (218)999-9099.

    Donation Pickup Interest Form

We prefer to pick up donations during our business hours. However, if those times don't work for you, or you're on a deadline, we'll work with you to find a time to pick up your donation.
    Max file size: 20MB
We prefer that you upload pictures of your items so we can see how much space and time we'll need to load and transport everything. If you have a lot to donate and aren't able to upload pictures, let us know below what you have.

FAQs about Donating

Do you use the donated materials to build Habitat homes?
No. The materials are sold in the Habitat ReStore, with the proceeds from the store going towards Habitat for Humanity's programs and operations.
Do I get a tax receipt for donating?
Yes!  Habitat ReStore is part of Habitat for Humanity and a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. All donations can receive a potential tax deduction.
Can ReStore put a value on the items I donate?
No, we cannot place a value on any donations for tax purposes. Doing so is up to the donor.
What can I donate?
Below is a list of acceptable and unacceptable donations. Generally, we take furniture, materials, and large appliances that are in good condition. If you are in doubt about whether your donation will be accepted, you can call and ask, or email pictures. We inspect donations when they arrive or are picked up and will turn them down if they do not meet our criteria.
I am renovating my house! Can you take any of my old materials?
Check out our deconstruction program! We will help with the deconstruction process and sell the materials in our ReStore.
